| interests It's pretty
difficult to list all of my interests, but this is generally it:
- History (My main interests are in
imperial history, especially the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries; eighteenth- and
nineteenth-century British history; economic history; theories of development;
globalisation in history; and Eastern encounters with 'the West').
- Politics (including reading The Guardian.
But I always seem to spend more time looking at the chess and sudoku sections of the
Independent...).
- Thinking (I'm currently thinking
about how to describe my thinking interests).
- Internet and website design (If
you are a returning visitor, you may know that this site is now sadly the (n+1)th version.
- I also read/think a lot about
human rights and development issues, though the amount of press and publications
available on the latter is pretty meagre. I find this a bit shocking, since this is
possibly the biggest challenge facing us over next the couple of centuries at least.
The New
Internationalist is pretty handy, though, and more
people are starting to take notice.
