me

I live in sunny England. Bordering rainy Scotland to the north and overcast Wales to the west, sunny England (yes yes, it's a joke) is part of the "island" known as Great Britain. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland comprise the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' (UK). The UK is a "country". England, Scotland and Wales are also countries. Confused? You may be... unless you feel very patronised, in which case you will want to move on to the next bit pretty sharpish...

Some more about me me me. On 1 July 2006, I graduated from Robinson College, University of Cambridge, with a First Class (BA) Honours degree in History. To read my final-year dissertation, click here. If you are a student thinking of applying to this University, or to any other British University, I would encourage you to do so. Email me if you have any questions with which you think I might be able to help. University was a fantastic experience, and I think more people should have the opportunity to go. Before attending Cambridge, I went to WBGS, a (sort of) old-Grammar-now-State school in Watford, Hertfordshire. It's a great school and I think it's now called a voluntary-aided comprehensive, although this is probably once more subject to change thanks to our self-admittedly incompletely-reforming Prime Minister, Tony.

I am from London, although this is only true by virtue of "Middlesex" county being scrapped. I'm therefore a bit confused as to my residential and citizenship status - not clever when it comes to ID cards, eh Tony? My father works in the glass industry, as does my brother. This results in a plenitude of odd conversations about toughened glass at home - not fun. My mother works in a nursery, and somehow my sister goes to some so-so university in London somewhere, some of the time (or so it seems) :-p

That's it for now, and anyway, there probably is nott much else to say that is not already somewhere on this site.
